Project Description

Vis a Vis  goal was to create a neutral space suitable for presentations of different artworks.
We  changed the existing  layout  and created different areas : for exhibition, office, storage
and service. Among other interventions we left a mettalic  technical floor which  before (in an
office)  was under a floor covering. Later that floor become also a part of  artist experiments.
Works on pictures by : Christian Tomaszewski, Irmina Staś and Paweł Matyszewski,
Pravdoliub Ivanov, Przemysław Jasielski.

Le Guern Galery, founded n 2004, is a contemporary art gallery  which  focuses on exhibiting
the work of emerging artists from Polish and international  art scene. Presenting some of the
most challenging contemporary artists, as well as supporting young local artists, the gallery
shapes its profile with reference to the current visual manifestations. Following the
complexity of the art world today, we intend to reflect the perpetually evolving aspects of
contemporary art in its most dynamic sense. Our intentions include the desire to show the
changing forms of today’s art as it shifts to the broad field of visual culture. As a site for art to
happen we are trying to respond to that challenge by providing artists with possibility of
artistic production and project-making.The gallery’s space is opened to various artistic
positions. The program covers the range and diversity of contemporary art. The artists
represented by the gallery work with variety of media such as photography, painting, drawing,
sculpture, installation, object, film, video art as well as performance art. The exhibition
program is based on the following areas: solo exhibitions with new works by established
artists, new projects by young, emerging artists, thematic and group exhibitions including
projects outside the gallery. Our works have been purchased to the following institutional and
corporate art collections: Deutsche Bank Collection, Deutsche Telekom, European
Parliament, Harvard Business School, Tufts University Art Collection, European Central
Bank in Frankfurt am Main, National Museum in Gdańsk, Poland and others.
